Webb R. Gilmore is chairman of the firm and a shareholder in the Kansas City office. Mr. Gilmore has practiced law as a municipal bond attorney since entering the law practice in 1973. During his legal career, he has specialized in the area of tax-exempt bond financing for state and local governments, hospitals, colleges and universities and other public and private institutions and has served as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel on a wide variety of tax-exempt financings. Mr. Gilmore has been active in public service including the Board of Curators of the University of Missouri System, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Board of Trustees, the Missouri Lottery Commission, the Missouri Humanities Council and the Gillis Center for Children and Families. He also was a member of the Board of Directors of Kansas City Life Insurance Company for 18 years. Mr. Gilmore is a member of the Academy of Missouri Squires, an organization founded to honor 100 Missourians who have reached the highest level of accomplishment in their community, state or nation. He is also a recipient of the Citation of Merit for outstanding achievement and meritorious service in law - University of Missouri Law Alumni Association and the Baron of the Boardroom Award recognizing a distinguished career in business law - Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Mr. Gilmore is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. During law school, he was Note and Comment Editor of the Missouri Law Review. Prior to attending law school, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Submarine Force.
