BACKGROUND
James K. Dummitt is a shareholder tax attorney of the firm in the Kansas City office focusing on the tax aspects of public finance transactions, including financings for general governmental purposes, education, healthcare, affordable housing, economic development, public utilities, airports, among others, as well as advising clients on post-issuance bond compliance matters and representing clients before the IRS. Mr. Dummitt was admitted to the California Bar in 2007 and the Missouri Bar in 2009. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. Mr. Dummitt received his B.A. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003, his J.D. (cum laude) from the Pepperdine University School of Law in 2007, and his LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 2008.
